The Associate Degree for Transfer (AA-T) in Communication Studies provides students with a major that fulfills the requirements for transfer to a California State University. Students with this degree will receive priority admission with junior status to the California State University system.

To be eligible for entry into the 100% online Communication Studies program, students must:

  1. Commit to taking specific courses and sections identified in the degree requirements
  2. Live in California

Course Map

The Communication Studies degree is a 60-unit program designed to be completed by full-time and part-time students. In addition to the degree requirements, students will take courses from the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) areas.

Transfer Requirements

To transfer, students must meet the following requirements:

  1. Completion of 60 transferable units to include a minimum of 30 units from the GE breadth requirements
  2. Completion of Areas A1, A2, A3, and B4 with a grade of "C" or better
  3. Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 for all transferable coursework and all courses used to fulfill general education requirements
