As an online student, you will access a number of different portals, applications, and online services, including:
- Academic Calendar
- Google Suite
- Los Rios Gmail
- Los Rios Libraries
- Los Rios Scholarships
- Office 365
The academic calendar has important dates on it, such as when classes start and end, the last day to enroll or drop a class, holidays, and final exam dates.
You can purchase textbooks, college gear, and other supplies through the online bookstore. Textbook rentals are also available. The textbooks you need for your classes are linked in eServices.
Canvas is the online learning platform where you will attend your classes. Your instructors will post syllabi, assignments, communications, and exams on Canvas. You can also interact with your classmates in Canvas.
In eServices, you can search for and register for your classes, pay your fees, and download your transcripts. You can also view and accept any financial aid awards you receive.
As a Los Rios Colleges Online student, you have limited access to a suite of Google tools to help you succeed. You can access your Los Rios Gmail and Google Calendar immediately. You can also access Google Drive, where you can create and collaborate on documents, spreadsheets, and more – either individually or with large groups of people.
Tools such as Google Classroom, Google Hangouts, and Groups for Business are available after you enroll in your first class.
Los Rios Gmail
All official college notices will be sent to your Los Rios Gmail account, so be sure to check this email account often. Look for important messages from your professors along notices about course registration, financial aid, and more.
Los Rios Libraries
The library supports your research and information needs. Through our online college library, you'll have access to research databases that contain high-quality academic information.
Los Rios Scholarships
During the scholarship season, you can complete a general application and apply for specific scholarships in the Los Rios Scholarship portal. After you submit a scholarship application, you will be automatically matched to scholarships that you qualify for based on your student record and answers to the questions in the application.
NetTutor offers free online tutoring in almost every academic subject in addition to free help with reading, writing, and language skills. To access NetTutor, log in to Canvas, select one of your courses, and find the NetTutor link in the left navigation.
If you are enrolled in the current semester, then you are eligible to use Microsoft Office 365, which includes Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. All data will be removed at the end of the current term, and each semester you will start with a fresh instance of Office 365.
